“Acros Fukuoka” is located between Meiji Dori and Tenjin Central Park. They saw a building in the city as a mountain and step garden with trees on Tenjin Central Park side. It is an oasis in the city with plants for each season.

Inside of the building, there is an atrium that goes through 2 floors below ground to 12th floor so it is very bright and open.


【Climbing mountain in the middle of Tenjin!?】

Acros Fukuoka seen from Tenjin Central Park has step garden surrounded by greens and looks like a mountain. You can climb this Acros Mountain. (You can climb up to the height of 13th floor on weekdays).

Let’s go to Acros Mountain. You start from the entrance on Tenjin Central Park side and go zigzag up on the stairs.

“Acros Mountain” has more and more plants growing. Now, there are more than 50,000 plants in 120 different kinds.

You can go all the way up to the observatory on the top floor on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The observatory on the top floor has the height of 60m. When you get to the top, you will feel a sense of accomplishment unlike climbing stairs inside. Over the city scape with many buildings, you can see “Umino Nakamichi” in the north and “Fukuoka Dome” and “Fukuoka Tower” in the west. You can see where Tenjin is located in the in comparison to other areas.

【There are other facilities!】

In “Acros Fukuoka” there is a full-scale shoe box shaped music hall “Fukuoka Symphony Hall” with reverberation time over 2.0 seconds even when all seats are occupied. There are also “Event Hall”, “Cylinder Hall” and international concerts and events are held there.

Also, there is “Takumi Gallery” where there is permanent exhibit of traditional crafts and rural crafts. At “Cultural Tourist Information Plaza”, they provide information about Kyushu, Okinawa, and Yamaguchi area. They have a wide variety of cultural information.  

The first and the second floor of “Acros Fukuoka” west is “Cultural Tourist Information Plaza”. There is a translator volunteer guide “Fukuoka SGG Club” who can help foreign travelers plan their trip so stop by anytime. 

Near the entrance of Best Electronics, there is “Information Center” near the escalator and they can give information in English.
