■Mitsubishi Jisho Artium
“Mitsubishi Jisho Artium” is at the 8th floor of Ism. They have exhibits and event with Ism as the center of art culture of Ism.
Exhibit of Masaru Suzuki, a textile designer who has been getting a lot of attention. He held his first exhibit in Kyushu called “Textile exhibit of Masaru Suzuki, everything visible and every colored pattern. (Picture taken on December 9th, 2017 ※Exhibit changes periodically.)
The standard-bearer of realism, Atsushi Suwa’s first full-scale exhibit in western Japan “Atsushi Suwa, since 2011/incomplete”. (Picture taken on October 19th, 2017 ※Exhibit changes periodically.)
There are some exhibit that supports the young artist with promising future as well as exhibits for internationally successful artist that we cannot see so often in Fukuoka.
Don’t miss the art shop next to the gallery “.g (dot g). There are many items related to the exhibit held at Artium as well as stylish art goods and books.

■Gallery Towaru
It is a long-established gallery started in 1979 located by the entrance of the shopping district, Nishidori in Shintencho, Tenjin.

At “Mokko” next to the sells and displays craft of artists such as chasing and vessels, as well as glass and wooden crafts. (The picture is jewelry made by Keiko Wardbota, a chaser. ※Exhibit changes periodically.)

■art space baku
When you walk Nishidori to the north and cross 2 large street, you will see “Oyafuko Dori (※ The sign still has the old kanji). “art space baku” is on the second floor of a building near “Oyafuko Dori”. This is the gallery with the longest history in Fukuoka, started in 1976.
In small space of 5.5 tsubo (18m2), they display mainly modern art such as pictures, 3D art, videos, and illustrations. (The exhibit shown is from “the exhibit of Hidesaburo Saito” As of November 20th 2017. ※Exhibit changes periodically.)
If you go to “baku” you must go to “Yaneura Baku”. It is a coffee shop operated by the owner couple of “baku. It was opened the same you as the gallery in 1976). You can feel the atmosphere of the good old times.
