Hakata Dontaku Port Festival At A Glance
Festival for Fukuoka citizens, celebrated annuary on May 3rd and 4th. Traditional event originating in "Matsubayashi" in "Chikuzen no Kuni zoku fudoki," which states its beginning in 1179. People dress up in unique costumes and parade through the main street called the Meiji Street, clapping shamoji spoons and performing dances. In addition to approximately 30 specially built stages set up around the city, "Hana Jidosha" decorated with LED bulbs and artificial flowers go arould the town to gring up the excitement.
